Director of Operations

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the custodian and supply operations division of the Facilities and Operations Department.  The general function of this position is to supervise all custodial and warehouse staff and assure that they are maintaining the cleanliness of the  facilities in the Grand Rapids Public Schools District. This also includes snow removal from walkways, sidewalks, etc. in the winter. The custodial staff is normally on duty Monday – Friday from 6:00 am. through 11:30 pm., with exceptions for after hours, weekend and holiday activities at the district facilities.  The Director of Operations is expected to develop a flexible work schedule that would facilitate the supervision and inspection of work performed by the second shift teams, as well as the day shift staff.
