INTERVENTION SPECIALIST
Department: Public Safety & School Security

JOB SUMMARY
The primary focus of the Intervention Specialist is to provide support for school age scholars who need extra behavioral support in continuing their education. The Specialist will work with assigned scholars by keeping them engaged in the learning process, which will lead to school success. The Specialist will also work with parents and families as requested by the principal or Public Safety Office personnel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of one semester of post-Secondary course work at an institute of hiring learning.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in educational setting.
- Experience working with at-risk students and
- Experience in education, criminal justice, social work and/or human
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to effectively function as a professional team member
- Possesses high level of communication skills (oral and written).
- Must be able to deal with the multiplicity of an urban community
