JOB SUMMARY
The Licensed Heating/Air Conditioning person is a member of the Operations Team. This position reports to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for assisting in the operation of the Mechanical Maintenance Department.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

- Responsible for the removal, lay out, and installation of heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems
- Efficiently and thoroughly troubleshoot heating, cooling, and refrigeration systems
- Troubleshoot and repair gas fired boilers and their controls
- Install and repair steam and hot water heating controls, electric and pneumatic, such as: valves, traps, pumps thermostats, etc.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Assist with other departments as required
- Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents, and the community in positive, supportive, and cooperative ways
- Availability for emergency calls 24 hours/day, 7 days/week as needed
- Work flexible hours, as required
- Promote continuous quality improvement with team members
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Limited Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning License or willing to obtain unlimited heating/ventilation/air conditioning license within 2 years of hire
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience required
- Possess valid driver’s license, good driving record, and own reliable transportation to and from job sites
- Possess own small hand tools for the trade

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Must be able to work from ladders, scaffolds and within tunnels as necessary. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Work is performed indoors although there will be required outdoor activities.
