JOB SUMMARY

The Permanent Substitute will work in the absence of a regular scheduled Food and Nutrition Services employees. Assignments will be made by the Supervisor of Food and Nutrition Services. Start and end times will vary. Shifts will include but not limited to: Utility & Production for Satellite and Secondary schools and the Nutrition Center.

  • Attend meetings conducted by the Food and Nutrition Services Director to increase knowledge and efficiency
  • Promote good working relationships with other school employees and the public
  • Interact with co-workers, administration, parents, and the community in a positive, supportive, and cooperative way
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Food and Nutrition Services

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • Must have a working telephone and reliable transportation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish required work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to accomplish work efficiently without direct supervision
  • Must possess the capability to maintain accurate ordering and inventory records
  • Must possess the ability to work in a professional/courteous manner with students and staff
  • Demonstrated ability to participate as a member of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment) taste and smell. The employee must on a continuous basis lift and carry up to 40 pounds and be able to stand for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. 

 

MENTAL FUNCTIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile, and negotiate.
